Last week we dropped the second instalment of acts for Bad Friday 10. The announce welcomed another 5 artists to the already mega Fraser Park lineup. Leading the charge on the second announce were Melbourne’s Tropical Fuck Storm. Featuring members of The Drones and coming hot off the back of a mega tour with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Tropical Fuck Storm will be tearing through Bad Friday 10. The rest of the announce saw Holiday Sidewinder, Crocodylus, 100 and The Buoys leading the charge for Sydney, bringing the grand total of Sydney bands to a whopping 14 out of 19.
Since its inception a decade ago Bad Friday has been a bastion for live music in Sydney. Providing a platform for up and coming bands to launch their careers, often being the first festival they play before breaking through on a national level.
We are extremely proud to have 74% of acts hail from Sydney, that number would jump up if you include Shane from DZ Deathrays who now lives here. Each one of these Sydney artists have continued to impress us throughout the year and represent what we believe to be the cream of the crop and the ones to watch over the next 12 months.
People say Sydney's live music scene is currently under a lot of pressure. But just like old Merle at the pub used to say, "the only way to make a diamond is with a bit of pressure". Here are some diamonds Sydney has produced over the last few years that you'll have the pleasure of seeing at Bad Friday 10:
100 - Baby Beef - The Buoys - Crocodylus - DMA'S - Georgia June - Holiday Sidewinder
The Jezabels - Johnny Hunter - Lime Cordiale - Planet - Scabz - Shogun & The Sheets - World Champion
